I led my team of designers in a complete redesign of the Store Mode 
experience for the Macy’s app (functionally &#38;amp; visually). I crafted theUX strategy &#38;amp; directed all UX from early sketches to final 
prototypes. Use customer app behavior/usage (over time) to help personalize and enhance their in-store experience.

Design Sprints &#38;amp; Cross-Functional Collaboration

UX, Product &#38;amp; Eng teams conducted a 1-week Design Sprint. 
This helps us understand the size of the problem we’re tacklingand test some early, sacrificial concepts.
&#38;nbsp;It also helped get everyone together as one larger team&#38;nbsp;
and catapulted us into the weeks of work ahead.

User Centered Design
Both within the Sprint itself, and in iterations afterwards,&#38;nbsp;
we continuosly tested our concepts to ensure we’re moving
in a path that resonates with users.

If an app is aspires to feel “premium”, how can we express 
that via actionable design direction?

How can the unpacking of “premium” be merged with known 
UX pain points to inform UX principles?&#38;nbsp;
How can give “Offers”, a high traffic section of the app, 
a more contextual home across the app?&#38;nbsp;

How can we reimagine the cheapened perception of too many 
promotions &#38;amp; sales (Offers) into a more tasteful approach?&#38;nbsp;
&#38;nbsp;

&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; GoalsCreate a more rhythmic, varied browse journey. 
Avoiding  repetitive carousels.
Personalizing the user’s experience, presenting more 
of what they’re likely interested in.
Visual appeal. Making the app feel like an app, not mobile web.
Reimagining the “Offers” tab in order to make the experiencefeel more premium. Avoiding a perception of cheapness.

User Centered Design

Through several iterations and multiple rounds of user testing (UCD), 
we were able to reach a design which resonated with users and proved 
to be the stronger solution.

The research team also conducted competitive biometric testing 
to analyze the emotional side of the experience. This revealed 
where the emotional spikes happened for users in the experience.

User Centered Design

Through several iterations and multiple rounds of user testing (UCD), we were able to reach a design which resonated with users and proved to be the stronger solution.

The research team also conducted competitive biometric testing to analyze the emotional side of the experience. This revealed where the emotional spikes happened for users in the experience.

Sound Design

We collaborated with a very talented agency to design the sonic experience –&#38;nbsp;sounds for navigation, confirmation, errors…This helped elevate the overall product to a different level.

Defining the SOUL of the experience
Based on our newly established design language, 
I drove the definition of our product identity.

I evangelized this soul-defining work across various orgs at AT&#38;amp;T, 
which resonated very well with key stakeholders. Not only did it rally 
everyone around a common cause, but it helped communicate the value 
of UX in the ultimate success of the product.

Ushering the satellite-based TV product 
into the new age with a modernized 
entertainment experience.


&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; Challenges
At the time, the TV experience had serious limitations. The technical constraints made updating the overall experience very time-consuming. This hurt any type of short-term programs the business wanted to explore. There was also concern from a customer experience standpoint, with low satisfaction leading to customer calls.

We identified several user pain points and prime opportunities 
to elevate the experience into the modern age.

Don't Make Me WorkFinding something to watch felt like work. 
Too much of a dig to get to content.

Multiple Recordings LocationsProgram recordings and how to manage them were housed 
in multiple locations, creating a disjointed experience.

Disruptive Search
Searches could only be performed via one location, so users 
had to exit whatever they were doing/watching to search for something.

Lack of Visual Appeal
The look &#38;amp; feel was starting to feel dated.
